Carbon Trading

In an environmentally conscious society, the Crown Group recognise the importance of sustaining our environment and operating in a manner that is ecologically sound.

We are therefore delighted to announce that from 2007 the Crown Group will participate in a Carbon Trading programme, contributing towards global efforts to reduce global warming. This will begin with planting a substantial number of trees in the first stage of the programme and will continue as a long term project into the future.

Charles Beer, Chief Executive of the Crown Group comments, It is now becoming clearer to us all the impact that our lifestyles have on the environment. The Crown Group has over ten member companies, with more to be added in the New Year, so it is important that we operate in an environmentally ethical way.

Operating in a manner which is environmentally mindful has been an ongoing project of the Group’s following the purchase of agricultural land in 2005. This allowed their chefs to use fine quality fresh herbs and vegetables which will be organically and locally produced and from garden to table in hours. This sustainability programme has been a great success and ensures that the produce we use is locally grown, organically sound and with minimal impact to the environment.
